The Graduate College Welcomes New Faculty to Iowa State University

Welcome to Iowa State University. As graduate faculty members, we know you will be actively engaged in teaching, researching, and mentoring graduate students and/or postdoctoral scholars. We want to take this opportunity to share some important resources and guidelines that will impact your roles and your students' academic journey.

This page serves as an introduction to the wealth of FREE resources and support your graduate students and postdocs can access at Iowa State University.

Gain research writing skills and more

Save time on providing feedback for your student's academic writing. Encourage them to register for upcoming events to improve their research writing skills.

Longitudinal support for early-program graduate students

Provide timely support for your student's academic journey. Encourage them to enroll in the AcComP track that fosters students' graduate success from admission through degree completion while earning a certification.
GR ST 531X Thriving in Graduate School (1 credit) is offered Fall 2023.

Thesis/Dissertation templates to help your students succeed

All theses and dissertations must adhere to the Graduate College guidelines for formatting, digital accessibility, and research and publishing ethics (e.g., copyright, ethical text-reuse, and shared authorship).

Our templates incorporate best practices for research and publishing ethics and digital accessibility. Using our templates can minimize the need for formatting changes before students upload their final documents to ProQuest and the University Library's Institutional Repository
