International graduate students who are offered a graduate teaching assistantship are considered international teaching assistants (ITAs). ITAs meet the English for Teaching requirement through their English proficiency test scores, the English Communication Practice Program, GR ST 5400 courses, or the Oral English Certification Test (OECT) — in compliance with Iowa Board of Regents Policy 3.21.
