Graduate Peer Review Groups are open to graduate students from a variety of backgrounds, departments, and programs at ISU.

To be considered for participation in a group, a student must fulfill a number of expectations including:

  • having a working research paper or writing assignment,
  • attending and participating in weekly meetings,
  • bringing work for review in accordance with the schedule,
  • providing thoughtful constructive feedback and
  • being polite, professional and supportive.

To be placed in a peer writing group, you need to fill out an application. Applications are typically available at the start of each semester when groups are formed. Places in peer review groups are limited and some students are waitlisted each semester.

Students are placed in groups by discipline and availability. If you have a group of 6-10 graduate students in related disciplines who are committed to forming a new peer review group, the Center for Communication Excellence may be able to help facilitate the process.

Current graduate students with specific questions about PRGs can contact the peer review groups coordinator, Kelly Cunningham, at Those interested in joining a group should also fill out an application on the Join a Group page.
